Snow Day!

Okay, so I am still trying to get the hang on this blogging thing!  So, just bare with me! (Or is it, Bear with me?) Who knows!
Anyway, it is snowing here in Colorado today.  When we uprooted our little family 7 months ago on this new adventure, we promised our boys a winter wonderland! We have had just about 5 inches of snow so far...all winter!  With the hopes of finally getting to play in the fluffy stuff, I went and bought the boys snow boots and and sled.  A few months ago I scored some snow pants at Goodwill for $1.99!    Today, I found the Monster a cute pair of snow boots there for $2.00.  SCORE! For my big boys, I found some boots at Wal-Mart for just $9.00.  Not too bad!  I am honestly praying that it snows enough that the IT Guy will be off work tomorrow, and will be able to stay home with us!  I can't take 3 boys sledding all by myself.  I guess I could, but I have grown to like my sanity.
As I sit on my couch, watching as the snow has fallen for over 2 hours, I can't help but get more and more excited for summer.

So, this entry was a little boring, but I am working on something fabulous for the next few days!  I am on the hunt for old furniture so I can do some DIY projects!

Stay Tuned!

Day One!

I have tried blogging several times, but I never seem to stick to it!  However, now that I am a stay at home Mommy, I have tons of time!  By tons of time,  I mean that few silent hours when my toddler (Monster) is asleep!
I am creating this blog to show crafts I have made, recipes I have tried or that have failed, money savings tips and mostly disproving the lies that are shown on TV from those other "Real Housewives". The first lie is that I am sitting here with unwashed hair for a few days, watching Live with Kelly and Michael, trying to talk myself out of making cookies!  I don't wear heels when I clean, I don't have a maid, and I don't have a drinking problem.  My friends don't come over and my husband doesn't cheat on me!  Sorry if that shatters your view of true Housewives, but this is real!

Homemade Fabric Softener!!!

I have heard of this recipe before, but I wasn't sure I wanted to try it.  I made some the other day, and I love it!  I wanted to share it with you all.  Obviously, you can find this on Pinterest, but I will share it with you again!

6 cups boiling water
2 cups conditioner (yes, hair conditioner! Any scent)
Mix those together till they are blended well.
3 cups of white vinegar
Mix the vinegar in and put it in an old fabric softener jug, or anything that will hold it.
I make sure and shake mine before using it, just in case it starts to separate!
It DOES smell like vinegar when you put it in your machine, but your clothes WILL NOT smell like it afterwards! Just nice an soft.  I am thinking about putting in some Downy Unstoppables in the water when I boil it, they will dissolve and add more scent. I have not tried this, but I will post when I do.  It might be a huge disaster, but who knows!

Hope you enjoy!
Love to all!
